The Plains run on systems. Fuel lines, grain elevators, power grids, water tanks — the built logic that keeps the land functioning. This chapter looks at what holds everything up: not the people who depend on it, not the land beneath it, but the structures themselves. Some are still working. Some have been abandoned. Most were built without ceremony and will outlast the people who needed them.
